AJE's Motorized Decurler
Option 1 - Pivoting Decurler
The Decurler consists of two fixed position 6" diameter idler rolls and an adjustable 1-15/16" diameter breaker roll. The breaker roll pivots about one of the idler rolls by means of a worm gear drive and is positioned by the operator to compensate for roll set. The adjusting worm gear is motorized and controlled with operator pushbuttons located near the stacker. The breaker roll is adjustable in either direction and is capable of removing upcurl or downcurl depending on how the unit is threaded.
Includes an optional 2-1/4" diameter breaker roll mounted to the same pivoting housing as the 1-15/16" diameter breaker. This breaker roll is adjustable in either direction and is capable of removing upcurl or downcurl depending on how the unit is threaded.
Includes an optional 1-1/4" diameter breaker roll with a center air bearing to eliminate roll deflection. This breaker roll is mounted to the same pivoting housing as the 1-15/16" diameter breaker roll. This breaker roll is only adjustable for downcurl (unwinding off the top of the rollstand).
Option 2 - Single Direction Roll Decurler
The Decurler consists of two 4" diameter idler rolls and a 1" diameter breaker roll mounted in steel side frames which are in turn secured to a supporting framework. The breaker roll is backed up by a 1" diameter cam follower wheels spaced at 12" increments across the face of the roll. The entire breaker roll assembly is mounted on a support bar that is positioned by jack screws at both ends.
The jacks are powered by a 1/4-HP motor. The support bar is guided at each end by adjustable gibs to eliminate vibration on the screws. The travel of the breaker assembly is limited by electronic sensors at both ends of the stroke. The positioning motors are remotely controlled from the piler control station.
Option 3 - Manual Decurler
Includes one 6" diameter idler roll and one 2-1/4" diameter breaker roll with worm gear and handwheel adjustment.
