AJE's Dual Slitter AJE's Double Slitter
Each slitter station consists of two sets of top and bottom slitters. Additional sets of slitters are available for up to four pockets. The bottom slitter and rings are 8" OD x 6" ID and are mounted on a special expanding air shaft designed to hold the slitters in place and minimize radial and axial run out to less than .005 T.I.R. The bottom slitter shaft is powered by a 1-HP AC follower drive that can be fine-tuned to run at the optimum overspeed. The base speed reference signal will come from the draw roll of the rotary knife.
The bottom slitter shaft is supported by bearings and is designed for easy slitter ring changes without having to use an external hoist. The top slitter holders are mounted on a dovetail slide and are air actuated for both penetration and side loading. Each top slitter head is positioned by a pinion gear and a common rack.
In the case of the Dual Slitter, the two bottom slitter shafts are mounted adjacent to each other to simplify the set up for size change and reduce the possibility of errors in matching up the top and bottom settings. The top slitter station infeed roll is custom-designed to pivot back to allow easy access to both bottom slitter shafts from the existing catwalk.
Each set of slitter stations is supplied with thread-up pans to help get the web through the slitter station.
Trim removal and pickup tubes are not included.
All of AJE's Slitter assemblies include idler rolls to assure ideal slitter wrap angle going into and out of each station.
